Tony Khan says WWE talking with Warner Brothers Discovery is part of sports.
Since 2019, AEW has formed a strong relationship with Warner Brothers Discovery (previously known as WarnerMedia). AEW Dynamite airs on TBS, and both Rampage and Collision air on TNT. However, both AEW’s media rights and those of WWE RAW are up in 2024. As previously reported, WWE has met with Warner Brothers Discovery about WWE RAW.
When speaking on Going Ringside with New4Jax, AEW CEO Tony Khan was asked about the reports about WWE and WBD speaking. (H/t Jeremy Lambert of Fightful for the transcription)
“It’s part of sports,” Tony Khan said. “I think everybody discusses contracts and free agency and things of that nature. I think everybody is aware that everybody is going to be talking to everybody in media this coming year.
“There will be certainly a lot of opportunities. We’ve had a great history with Warner Brothers Discovery and continue to produce great ratings. We’ll be in a very good position next year.”
Tony Khan has often emphasized that AEW has a great relationship with WBD. He recently commented on the situation and stated that he believes AEW will have huge growth in 2024.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
