Judge Glenda Hatchett Daughter-In-Law Death Explained

Kyira Dixon Johnson, the daughter-in-law of TV judge Glenda Hatchett, tragically lost died after heavy blood loss after the delivery of her second child. She gave birth to her second son via a cesarean at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles in April 2016.

Kyira Dixon Johnson was married to Hatchett’s son, Charles S. Johnson IV and the two were expecting their second child. Unfortunately, Kyira lost her life from blood loss 12 hours after giving birth. When doctors eventually operated on her, they found a large amount of blood inside her abdomen.

Following the death of his wife, Johnson filed a wrongful death lawsuit claiming doctors neglected the health condition of the patient and sought damages. Although the doctor ordered CT scans for Kyira’s abdomen and pelvis, it was never carried out.

Around three liters of blood was found in her abdomen during surgery. Sadly, she could not survive the heavy blood loss and was pronounced dead at 2.22 am. The cause of her death was ‘due to hemorrhagic shock due to acute hemoperitoneum’ from the autopsy.
