SCARSDALE, N.Y. Sundays weather might not have been conducive to T-shirts and shorts and backyard cookouts, but for those taking part in Scarsdale Park and Recreations 43rd annual 15K/4-mile runs, the overcast sky and mid-40s temperatures were perfect.
Russell Cruz of New Rochelle was the overall 15K winner, coming in at 56 minutes, 37 seconds. Topping the women's field was Jana Trank of Scarsdale, who completed the race in 1 hour, 4 minutes and 19 seconds.
Sherman Lau, 40, of New York City, was the overall winner in the 4-mile run, clocking in at 23 minutes flat. The overall female winner was Susan Branche, 54, of Scarsdale, crossing the line in 30:16.
Branche said she was coming off a foot injury. Im just grateful and happy to be out here, she said. It's a great hometown race.

It was perfect for running, said John Souchack, 48, of Scarsdale, who has run every year for the past five years.
Rye Brook's Tami Witham said it was runners weather, and she might have dressed too warmly today.
It was perfect, beautiful, she said. Scarsdale is so pretty.
Sharon Blaustein and Theresa Maldonado, both of Scarsdale, agreed it was runners weather.
More than 400 people registered for the runs, which began and ended at Scarsdale High School and wound through the streets of the Fox Meadow and Greenacres neighborhoods.
I thought it was fun, Maldonado said as she recovered from her 15K outing. It was her first time doing the run since high school. "Thank God for her," she said, with a nod to Blaustein.
I did the 4-mile last year, Blaustein said. The pair was escorted across the finish line by Blaustein's 8-year-old son, Tal Blaustein.
Souchack said he felt his performance was OK.
Just to get outside on a Sunday morning and run made it a great day, he said.
If I keep at it, one of these years I might win something.
