WASHINGTON — The White House called it a day at 3.59 p.m. on Saturday after President Trump spent the morning playing golf and refusing to concede the White House to President-elect Joe Biden.

Trump’s re-election campaign hammered Biden for calling early-morning lids during the 2020 presidential race, suggesting that the former veep wasn’t up for the task of running the country.

But with the nation waiting to hear from their president, the White House called a travel/photo lid of its own just before 4 p.m.

“Calling a lid” is when a campaign or candidate indicates to the press that they will not be holding any more events for the day.

Trump spent the first day of his lame duck presidency in the links of his Trump National Golf Club in Potomac Falls, Va., where he was presumably confronted with the news of his loss.

He was photographed looking stone-faced upon return to the White House, wearing a white “Make America Great Again” speech and clutching his cell phone in his hand.

Trump spent Saturday morning tweeting up a storm, baselessly claiming that he won the election “by a lot,” and in statement said he was refusing to concede the election which he said was “far from over.”

He mocked Biden repeatedly for his morning campaign lids at rallies and in a September tweet, said his opponent, now his successor, was “a very LOW ENERGY INDIVIDUAL.”
